Triplet Treasure

Triplet Treasure

When my children were little, I tried to do things with them that were fun and entertaining.  More than anything, I wanted my boys to know joy in life…pure and simple joy.  I remember the very first time we took them to the beach.  It rained.  I was so afraid the trip might be ruined, but we made the best of it, and they thought it was the greatest thing ever.  We didn’t have a VCR for them to watch all day, and we didn’t have a hide-a-bed for them to sleep on while watching the VCR all day.  We had a blast!  The four of us watched silly movies in the room and enjoyed being together in a way we didn’t often get because of all of our activities.  Who knew?

We chose for me to be a stay-at-home mom with the boys, though we were rarely at home.  We tried to stay busy making memories.  I always encourage people:  Make memories!  My friend Amy is doing just that.  So, with her permission, I am sharing with the rest of you her sweet videos of the adventures her triplets have had today at the beach.  Why am I sharing?  Because you don’t have to go to the beach to do fun and creative activities with your children.  I hope you enjoy the videos, and I hope you find some encouragement to do something fun with your child and his/her friends this week/weekend/summer/year.  Thanks, Amy!

This reminds me of the kids’ birthday parties! They were almost always a hayride and treasure hunt. I’d make a map on a brown paper bag that I crumpled and aged and burned the edges of. Big J would hide a box of treasure up in a tree or out on the pond or in the ground and the map would actually lead to the treasure (silly string, candy, bubbles). It makes me melt to hear the kids talk about those parties now. Thank you for sharing this! xx

So fun! Thanks for sharing. This one thing is exactly what I want to tell young families – life is short, make memories!! Those little ones grow up so fast!
