Only a few more days until Christmas.  This isn’t the happiest time of year for some of you, though.  You have parents in two different homes, and some have lost a parent altogether.  In the adult world, there’s so much pressure to get just the right gift for the kids and to keep everyone happy.  It’s a lot of pressure!  The point of Christmas is joy and hope, and we human beings know just how to let that escape us.  Maybe it isn’t us…maybe this is Satan’s most clever way of undermining the good God intends for us, by putting our focus on the human desires and away from God’s plan.  Hmmm…quite a revelation, Susan.

My mom is coming back, and we’re very happy.  Chip and Parker are busy with dueling X-Boxes, and we need to have a change of scenery.  Bernie has a Session meeting tonight, and we’re missing a special Christmas dinner.  I…get to drive tomorrow!  I feel like a kid who is getting their license.  It’s only been a week, but I like the freedom of being able to get places on my own.  I still can’t lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk (which is really pretty heavy) for another week, but that’s just one more week.
