What a week!  Thanks to all of you who made my birthday so special.  This week has been hard…Lisa is in the hospital and not coming home again.  They told Carter Marie last Monday night, and now we wait.  I was so blessed to spend the day with Lisa on Friday.  Have you ever just spent time with someone who knew the end was near?  When I was with Daddy, it was such a rich experience, too–almost on a different spiritual level.  As Lisa’s eyes batted back and forth at the ceiling, I wondered who or what she was seeing.  Oh, Jesus is so sweet to us, to allow us just a glimpse of the future.  Please pray that she will soon be out of all pain.  Am I not praying for a miracle, you ask?  Well, I think the miracle is that Lisa has taught us so much about Jesus and now she gets to go stay in the room He has prepared, and eat at the banquet table.  I’ve asked her to save me a seat!  Patti came up after lunch and sat with us–what a blessing she is!

Chip played in his first high school marching band performance at the Siegel High football game Friday night.  They were awesome!  The football team lost, but they actually played pretty well.  We had an extra treat of getting to spend some time with the Phillips and the Craigs at their tailgating.  Parker loved the Slick Pig wings.  Then yesterday morning, the band had a pancake breakfast and silent auction.  It was loads of fun, and I “won” a couple of the items I bid on.  I’ll be drinking my coffee on the go from my new Starbucks Thermal Cup.  Yeah!

We’re waiting to hear about my mother’s house…she finally received a decent offer and has now countered.  Hopefully, this will go through without a hitch!  Please pray that God will direct her through this.  It’s tough to be doing stuff like this without a husband, you know.  At least it is for someone who spent almost 40 years depending on and loving the man who took care of everything.  He was a wonderful man!

Have a great day today.  I’ll try to be more regular about writing, but it’s been hard when friends keep getting sick, and other friends’ parents have been sick and dying.  It’s a real wake-up to what is important in this world–the things of God, not of this world.

In Him,
Susan

What a wonderful legacy Lisa has left in your life! I pray with you that she will soon wake in glory! I’m glad that you are enjoying being a band parent. Siegel has a really good band….when is their first competition?
