I love the Olympics.  I admire these people who work so hard for so many years to train for this moment, knowing that they could win a Gold, they could come home empty-handed, or anything in between.  What dedication they have.  Kind of like Chelsey’s singing–or any of the other dedicated singers, or Chip’s playing the trumpet.  It takes dedication, and yet it might not end with a Gold Medal performance when you most need and want it.  How amazing they are!  Have you watched any of the Olympics this year?  What has been your favorite part?

I think it’s one of the hardest things for a parent…to stay removed from their children’s relationships.  Not that we need to stay removed, just not right in the middle of them.  Our hearts are so tender and aware of any hurts–like when they were in preschool and someone took their toy.  I’ve seen the horrors of overly involved parents.  I NEVER want to be one of those.  Kids have to work things out for themselves.  It’s a fine line.

God, thank you for being such a good father, such an understanding parent.  You have definitely set the example.  I pray that if Satan is trying to upset my emotional balance you would take control, and if you are speaking to me, please give me scripture that makes it certain.

Yeah. Swimming sure does take dedication, and I know I won’t be winning a gold for it any time soon.

So far my favorite thing on the Olympics has been Curling, most people don’t like it but i think it’s just awesome.

Hope you have a great day.

  4. i think that for most of those people, with dedication also comes passion. You can’t have one without the other. I know that there is never a day that i don’t love to sing. (even though sometimes i might act like it lol) and it takes alot of dedication to reach your goals…it also takes alot of strength to be rejected…but you can’t have dedication without a passion for what your doing, and i think that is what keeps you going through the good accomplishments…and the hard part of sometimes not quite getting what you wanted. (my thought process coming out into words lol)
