Advice for today:

Beware of Self-Pity—there is nothing more destructive than feeling sorry for ourselves.  I’ve allowed it so much room in my life at different times, and it is definitely Satan’s way of pulling me into a deep hole.

Be aware of God’s Plan for your life…We live in a world full of darkness, but God’s light is always brighter.  He has an amazing plan for each of our lives.  Whatever junk you’re going through right now is the very stuff God is going to use to build you into the person He desires you to be!

Be careful not to see “blessings” as God’s approval of what you’re doing…Sometimes good things happen that have more to do with our choices than with God’s will.  Satan would like nothing better than to fool you into thinking that if things are going great, it must be because we’re living in a way acceptable to God.  Be sure that God has ordained something before you claim it as His blessing for you.

Be careful not to abuse God’s grace…yes, God is gracious and He loves us.  He is so forgiving.  But don’t let that be a license to do things that you know are wrong, thinking that “oh well, God will forgive me.”  He may be forgiving, but he also holds us accountable for our actions, and our inactions.
