Today is Maundy Thursday (I always thought it was Monday Thursday when I was younger).  What is it, and why do some of us go to church today?  What about tomorrow, Good Friday?
Maundy Thursday is when we remember the night Jesus was betrayed by Judas.  The Lord’s Supper was that night, the Garden of Gethsemane was that night.  Oh, what a night.  God so loved you and me that Jesus endured that agonizing night of knowing what lay before him.
Good Friday:  About twelve hours after Jesus was arrested in the Garden, He was on the cross.  Examined and examined by Pilot and Annas, Caiaphas, and Herod.  Today is the day we “celebrate” or rather commemorate his crucifixcion.    Finally, it was finished.
Saturday:  I don’t think there’s a particular name for this day, but it’s a day that we should give some time to thanking God for all Jesus went through for each one of us.  He knew that we would lie to a friend, cheat in a game, fake being sick, hurt someone who had fallen for us…the list goes on.  Glory!  He knew all of the awful things we would do, and He said “Lay it on me!”  Whatever we could do, He’s already died for it.  Thank God He loved you and he loved me so much.

Sunday:  Woo Hoo!  Party!  He is risen!  He is risen indeed!
