Turn up the volume so you get in the spirit…

I felt like this should be red, white, and blue since I am watching the election results come in here in the middle of the night.  Why, in this day and age, are the so many problems with the election process?  I am amazed that we still do not know, by 4:00 in the morning, who won the election.  This whole thing about provisional ballots has me befuddled.  If I understand correctly, provisional ballots are from people who were too blasted lazy to register to vote, who then decided at the last minute that they wanted to vote.  You know, if you can’t get off your duff and register to vote in the allotted time, then you should forfeit that privilege–Republican or Democrat.  Honestly, those people should be treated like my kids are when they don’t get something done on time for one of their teachers…miss out on a reward.  The teachers are much tougher, and maybe someone should take note!  Now, if I have misunderstood provisional ballots, please correct me.  At 40, there is still much to learn.

I’ve been painting again…the entrance hall is now yellow, which I did when Bernie was out of town two weeks ago…the front door is now red, which I did all day yesterday and will continue with today.  It takes a lot of paint to cover one little door!  But it looks SO good!

Bernie has enjoyed his new position this week.  He’s received so many wonderful emails and phone calls congratulating him.  It is just a huge accomplishment in his life, and we are all so proud!

Tonight, we’ll have our activities at church.  Tomorrow is Beth Moore, and my cousin is coming to town.  Friday is a day I hope to finally go to Williams-Sonoma with my year-old gift card.  Saturday is the shower I’m having for my sweet friend Carolyn–having a baby when she thought she was way past being able.  What a precious gift God is giving them!

It will be a busy week, but it’s never too busy to pray for God to be with our President and Vice-President, Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards…both parties needing peace and rest.

I agree with you that our nation needs it’s people to pull together and lay aside the negativity of this election!

My daughter had a baby at almost 40….she had a 12 yr old and a 10 yr old at the time(and yes, he WAS a surprise). Our Joshua has been such a blessing to our whole family in so many ways. It warms my heart to hear about your friend.

Last year, we voted for student council, and it was so easy. You push a button for the candidate you want. How do we manage to screw that up? No, I’m not going to say Kerry really won and Bush rigged it, because it’s fair this time around. I’m just wondering why we still have problems.

I had no idea Bernie got promoted, send him my congratulations.

And I’m glad you pray for both candidates. That, to me, is a true christian viewpoint. Like Jesus said, “Love (and pray for) your enemies,” or in this case, political opponents.
