Cheesecake, Movies, and More

Cheesecake, Movies, and More

So, Movie Night was interesting.

Interesting people

(Isn’t she beautiful?)

Interesting activities!

And My Interesting Thoughts…

Let me just say…”No eye has seen, no ear has heard,no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him
.”  That’s the verse that God has given
me, and I’m not sure why.  I actually felt like making it my own and placing it
on my door post saying, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has
conceived what Mrs. Steen has prepared for those who cross her or those she loves.”
I’m pretty sure that’s not how God intended for me to use it, though, so I’ll keep meditating
on it.  Here’s what I think He’s saying:  In my love for Him, I should have hope and courage to press on, to
fight the good fight, for I know what lies ahead for me–in eternity.  It’s what He’s
promised.  So, no matter what troubles me here, persevere Susan!  There is
something wonderful waiting for you at the end.  In fact, there really is no end
because God promises us eternal life if we believe in the truth of Jesus Christ.  I believe…
and I pray you do, too.

So, Sunday was Church and Youth Group…Awesomeness!  I love my Youth Group, despite
some of their thoughts that I love the band kids more.  I just love them differently–not more or
less.

Today…a day off.  We went to The Cheesecake Factory in Green Hills.  It was MUCH fun!!
Bernie went, too, which was probably the highlight for me.  He rarely gets to go anywhere the
kids and I go, so it was a fantabulous day!!  AND  we took Chelsey and Olivia because everyone
should get a chance to eat at The Cheesecake Factory!  Here are the pics…and Parker, I’m sorry that
you have to be in the pictures, but I love you and want to be able to remember what fun you always
are!

Definitely, he could be a double for Cameron…

It was a wonderful 3-day weekend.  Christian went to church with us, it snowed, Bernie didn’t go
to the office…life is great!

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melissa Mitchell has a car!!!
Yes, it’s late-breaking news…shejust got the car maybe 20 minutes ago
and came by the house with her parents and precious grandparents (the givers of the car) to show me, so now I’ll show the rest of you……

Melissa's Car-1

Melissa's Car-2

 Melissa's Car-3
It’s a 2003 VW Jetta, Dark Gray…Her Granddaddy is in the back corner,
but you can’t really see him.  Isn’t she looking grand?  Yes, she is!!!

Hey, I don’t exactly know you, but you know a lot of my friends. I just wanted to say that despite the fact that I’ve never met you, I think you’re a really great person. I guess I’ve been kinda spying on your Xanga, and you always have something great and thoughtful and inspiring to say. So thank you because somehow your entries always make me feel better!

Thank you so much for such a nice comment. It has been very comforting to me. I keep going back, and re-reading it, and remembering that God is the one in control. Not me. And I try to keep telling myself that, as much as I want to, I can’t fix everyone and every situation. I guess right now I’m just taking it day by day. Some days are better than others…. Well thanks again for the comment!

  10. Yo yo sista, I felt so bad the other night when I FINALLY realized that you guys were having a board meeting!!  Had no idea that was what was going on.  I am so sorry I interrupted.   It was a crazy night, but a good meeting.  I’ll talk to you soon.  xoxoxo
