Happy is...

Happy is…

Finding fun in life is as easy as looking back to a birthday when I received gifts that probably weren’t terribly pricey but were obviously appreciated.  I think most of my life, I’ve had a smile on my face.

I wonder why we have to get so caught up in the seriousness of life that we so easily can put aside the giggly days of happy.  I look at this picture all of the time and am reminded of how happy I was…how happy I can be.

Sometimes, life is just so full of challenges that we find it difficult to make time for the happy, but it’s necessary to have a good life.

So, I pray that I might in my mind travel back to days (yesterday or yesteryear) when things feel overwhelming and remember how happy I can be, if I simply allow myself.

For today, I have two healthy adult children, a healthy husband who loves me, and a mother who is just around the corner literally and figuratively.  No matter what comes into our paths, the happy is right there…just around the corner.  Just a smile away.  We just have to take the time to remind ourselves…each of us.

I’ll have to look back in my diaries, and see if I can replicate what we gave you that year. 🙂 Yes, you were, and are, a happy child.
